We currently ship exclusively with Canada Post. We have a volume contract with them and as such are able to offer you the lowest shipping costs you’ll see. Rates are calculated during the check out process and prior to payment. So if you're curious about shipping costs and options, add some things to your basket to initiate a checkout. Rates are calculated in real time based on your location. We currently do not offer free shipping (except on certain products) however for plants you are being charged the least possible based on the smallest box we use.
Please note: Local pickup is available for anyone in Winnipeg or surrounding area

All shipments in the winter will be shipped "signature required" so they do not get let outside
DO NOT choose expedited shipping for plants if the above calculator says it will take 4 days or more. PLEASE choose xpresspost! We cannot guarantee plants that take over 4 days...
We reserve the right to downgrade your shipping from xpresspost to expedited if we need to use a bigger box than normal. Our website calculates shipping based on a predermined box size however if the plants need a bigger box, we may need to downgrade the servce to expedited in order to ship for the same cost using a bigger box. We will only do this if the expedited service still falls within our acceptable delivery policy.
Please note: If you have "in stock" items and "back order" items in your basket at checkout, your order will be held until we can ship all of the order at one time. In many cases, if you order a back order product, we are bringing this is in just for you. Refunds will not be allowed after I have placed my order for your plants!
Shipping/refund policy
Winter policy- Shipping in the winter can be risky. Over the past few years we've been pretty lucky and the number of lost shipments due to cold has been kept at a level where we feel comfortable continuing on through the winter. That being said, you may receive a frozen shipment. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to where or what temperature this happens. Seems to be pure luck of the draw. Maybe the drive from the airport to your local post office is too long, maybe the driver stops off at Tim's for a few hours, who knows. In any case, we will do our best to make things right in the event of a bad shipment.
Only shipments shipped to a Canada Post Flex Delivery address will be guaranteed during the months of Jan-Mar. Whether you are home or not to recieve shipment is irrelevant. In many cases, Canada Post contracts out home delivery to private citizens who may have you shipment sitting god know's where overnight...This is the issue..

Loss of plants due to excessive cold/freeze, or lateness in arrival
1. Refund of the total amount (including shipping) in the form of store credit which can be used on a future order). We will try to ship one more time to you location in the winter and if the same thing happens again, we will offer store credit (no refund option) in spring.
Loss of plant due to our error (forgetting a plant etc)
1. Refund of the plant(s) in the form of a 1.5x store credit. IE, if the plant is worth $5, you would get a $7.50 credit to your account.
2. Refund of the plant(s) in the form of paypal refund or email money transfer refund for the exact amount of the plant.
Please have your order in by Sunday 12:00pm to be included in that week's shipment. Please note: Checkout will be closed from Sundays 4:00pm to Monday 7:30am. Any orders received on Monday or Tuesday we will try to get out that week depending on your location and shipping method etc.
Packing of plants
We do not use heat packs or ice packs in our shipping. Heat packs for plants for the most part are unnecessary and may cause the shipment to overheat. Plants (unlike fish) can withstand very low temperatures and actually ship better in very low temperatures. If circumstances cause a box of plants to completely freeze, its unlikely a heat pack would have helped much in that situation. Instead of keeping the box at -20c a heat pack would have kept it at -10c. Plants will freeze either way. Another reason we do not use heat packs is that in order to use one properly, a larger box with more oxygen is necessary. This would drive an xpresspost shipment to Toronto from $14 to over $30. Not worth it for the average plant order. Generally, if plants are transported within sufficient time, the period of time the box spends in the Canada post truck will not cause damage. This of course is not always the case and we do have occasional shipments that get frozen. Do not worry, we will work it out!
Here is how we pack our plants
1. Each species is labeled and placed into it's own sealed bag.
2. All bags are then placed into one larger bag and then into a small box for shipping.
By keeping the shipment as small and compact as possible, we are able to offer low shipping rates.
Hard goods can generally be added to plant shipments at no extra cost.
We are available for plant pick ups most nights. We are no longer open for browsing in store. I just don't have enough time to set aside for it.
PLEASE NOTE; IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PICKUP THE PLANTS AT THE POST OFFICE ON TIME IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO RECEIVE THEM. PLANTS LEFT OVER THE WEEKEND WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO ANY KIND OF REFUND CONSIDERATION SHOULD THEY NOT ARRIVE IN SATISFACTORY CONDITION
